Just give me a ring

Makes me happy looking at these babies every day. I bought this egg crate from Anthropologie a while ago before I moved. I wanted to put all my favourite rings in it...so that's what I did as soon as I settled down at my new house!

Rings from top to bottom, left to right:
eBay S ring, H&M Bow ring, Alexander McQueen skull ring, H&M pink filigree ring, H&M bug ring, eBay angels wings ring, eBay crown ring, eBay snake ring, vintage Serpent ring bought from Paris vintage market

I love stacking the eBay rings together, especially since one of them is too big for my tiny fingers. And yes, I LOVE statement rings (even though my DBF hates them...since he can't hold my hand properly). I must say, my top 3 favourite ones are definitely the H&M Bow ring (I'm bow-obsessed), Alexander McQueen skull ring (I'm also skull-obsessed and Alexander McQueen obsessed in case you haven't noticed), and of course, the vintage Serpent ring (Paris, vintage market, need I say more?

The New Side

Woke up this morning with super messy hair...as I was in a rush, I let my super messy hair fall into its place on its own. So...here I am, with side parting instead of middle parting...and I'm LOVING it!

Does time really heal everything...?

Photos via weheartit

People say that time heals everything...but does it really? Some people come into our lives and make a mark...And when they're gone, the mark will still always remain there.
The thought of you not being here anymore makes my heart ache every time, not a day goes by without thinking of you. My dear BFF, I miss you, more than words can express. Although you are no longer physically with us, I can always feel your presence...the way you impacted all of our lives...your smile...I will never forget any of it.
I miss you. I love you.

Random facts and thoughts

  1. I don't know why, but a Grande Vanilla Latte always calms me down and makes me feel better.
  2. I wouldn't mind living next to or above a Starbucks (*note to self - requirement when house hunting in 2 years)
  3. I received a very inspirational and encouraging e-mail from one of my very close friend this morning, it really made my day.
  4. I dream of flea markets and vintage stores in Paris.
  5. I appreciate accessories - jewellery in particular more than clothes. It is definitely my weakness.
  6. I enjoy shopping by myself.
  7. I miss having picnic in the parks or by the Seine in Paris - baguette and ham with some rose wine.
  8. I can't wait to rock my grandma's vintage long fur vest this winter - it's super duper heavy but it makes me feel ah-may-sing.
  9. I have an obsession with Moleskine.
  10. I love buildings and architecture with a history behind it.
  11. A professor just came out of his office and saw me, and asked me about the expression "First come first serve". Then he went back to his office and came out again to confirm the expression. Don't know why, but it made me really happy even though I don't know this professor at all.

New Beginning...

I am ashamed to say that I have abandoned this blog for the past 1 1/2 month...but get ready for a complete re-vamp. Chic and Glam is coming back with a brand new look and I'm determined this time.

Something major happened in my life this past week...I've lost a loved one, a best friend. I will forever miss her and she will forever my in my heart. Her determination to pursue her dream inspires me everyday, which is why I've decided to give this blog and myself another chance.

I realized that I have lost myself for the past year or so, I have been too scared to pursue my dream. But now, I'm ready to take on the world, and I know that she's watching over me, encouraging me as well.

Wish me luck guys.

Anything but you...

For the past 2 weeks, my right eye has been red and aching, so I went to the optometrist last week...and he has told me not to wear my contact lens for a few weeks...until when? I don't know...but hopefully soon! I'm off to Punta Cana with DBF next week, I'm super stoked, yet super bummed that I'll be wearing my plastic rimmed glasses and looking nerdy instead of rocking my sunnies =(.
Today is DBF's birthday, so this past weekend has been a weekend-long of celebration with him. This is what I wore on Friday...more on the casual side.

T-shirt: Stradivarius , leggings: McQ Alexander McQueen from Luisa via Roma, boots: Zara

This outfit has all of my favourite pieces and current obsession!
I got this t-shirt in Paris during my trip in June/July, it's super comfy, and I especially love the portrait on the Tee.

I got these head-turning McQ Alexander McQueen leggings from Luisa via Roma on sale for $50! How could I say no....I picked these up along with the denim jacket. The prices were too good to say no to!

As for these boots, I have been wearing them every single day for the past week. I love how the style has more of a rugged/casual look, yet the fact that it is suede gives that more softening touch.

And of course, those arm candies are designed and made by yours truly, Lub Lub by LS. Check out my website at www.lublubbyls.com if you haven't already done so!

That's it for now, off to study~
Stay chic. Stay glam.

TGIF

TGIF...my mom put this as her facebook status last friday...and I had no idea what it meant until my DBF explained to me....haha...I'm surprised that my mom's more "in" with these words and acronyms than I am.

I have been sick for the past week...which really sucks....especially having to cough out loud in lectures....how embarrassing. On a happier note, I love Fridays nowadays because it is my day off. Originally I planned to get as much homework and studying out of the way as possible...but my plan failed miserably haha. By the time I woke up, it was already around noon, then I finished watching Rachel Zoe Project (I LOVE the show) online.

Afterwards, I had to run some errands, and so I stopped by my old workplace because 2 of my friends were working. We grabbed coffee, had a great chat and made amazing plans for these coming weeks. Seeing them made me so happy and emotional at the same time.

Today's day outfit: T-shirt - gift (I absolutely adore skulls and my best friend definitely knows that!), black and white tights (American Apparel), fringe cowboy boots (mom's)

Then I had to rush home to get ready for an event that DBF and I attended to tonight. It was a charity fashion show put together by a girl that I went to school with. For the event, I wore a royal blue dress, with patent mohagony boots and of course, topped it off with my new McQ Alexander McQueen jacket that I purchased from LuisaViaRoma (which I will take a picture of later). I was so happy because my jacket received so many compliments, it really made my night!

As far as accessories go....I have a WEAKKKKKKK spot for accessories

I bought these rings off eBay, there were about $1 each along with free shipping!

worn with mom's Baume & Mercier and a Lub Lub bracelet that DBF made for me (yes I made him sit down for a beading session with me a while ago hehe)

Everyone's going on with this "Krazy bands" craze, including my sister (who was attending the Cirque du Soleil show with my mom)!

And in this pic...you can see the sleeves of my McQ Alexander McQueen jacket!! A full proper pic will be coming soon! As far as accessories go: watch - Baume & Mercier, bracelets - Lub Lub by LS (www.lublubbyls.com), rings - eBay, nail polish - Chanel Paradoxal.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me! Tomorrow evening, I am helping my mom to throw a birthday bash for a few of her girlfriends at our house. I am such a freak when it comes to party planning, everything has to be perfect, and I will pay attention to the tiniest details - it scares my DBF when I plan parties haha. Then the rest of the weekend will be full of studying and spending time with my family and DBF.

DBF and I are planning to go away for a week around mid-October. Our current options are...Punta Cana/ London/ Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur (as his parents have a vacation home there) Hmmm....tough decision!!!!

Stay chic. Stay glam.
